Fomatting not reflecting in PDF reports

Hello,

I am stuck with below issue.It would be of great help if any one can suggest atlease what could be reason for the issue.

Using jasper report 3.7.3 , ireport : 3.7.3

I have Rich text editor , where user enters data and can format it using rich text toolbar(Bold, Italics,Indent,Outdent,underline,justify, horizontal rule) available.

Then he will try to generate the PDF report of that data.Here only plain data is coming in report without any the above mentioed formats.

I have even supplied the true type fonts (even for bold and italics).Still issue exists.

Do you think Jasper is not understanding the formatting done by rich text, will it not support it?

What I should try to fix this issue?
