JavaFX support

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a java based report engine and it looks like Jasper is a good candiadate. I'm also hoping for JavaFX to take off on the GUI side. I therefore wonder if there are any plans to develop JavaFX support within Jasper? It seems like a perfect fit to me and would really be an edge for a java based report engine.

Any thoughts?

Hi,

 

This is a good idea. But at the moment, we don't have enough bandwidth to start work on support for JavaFX.

A JavaFX report viewer for JasperReports would be a good candidate for a community contribution from people already proficient with JavaFX.

I'm probably not the one to contribute this (yet anyway) but it's nice to know that the idea of supporting JavaFX is within the scope of a project like Jasper.

I have started a github for JasperViewerFx. A javaFx implementation of the Jasper Viewer.

It allows printing, viewing and exporting of Jasper documents written completely in JavaFx.
