Problem With Ireport in Windows Vista

Hi! Everyone, I'm a software development in java framework Strust to be exact, i have a laptop with Windows Vista bussines 32 bits, and i have a project in eclipse 3.5 with jdk 1.5.0.8, my problem is that when i want to edit a jasper report (jrxml) with the IReport 1.2.5 I click the open buttom in the menu or i go to the File Menu -->Open option the open dialog doesn't appear and i don't know how to open my files with the IReport, i download from here the version 3.7 thinking that will solve the problem, but i can't  open  my jasper reports with this version too, i notice that in windows Xp I have the same project and i don't have this problem, so please could someone tell me what's going wrong?, i think that something is missing because the new IReport version is suposse to work with Windows Vista so i guess is something with my enviroment.
