thosp8246
I've been testing out iReport 3.6...so far everything looks great (except compiling subreports, but that is another issue altogether). However, I noticed a big problem in that I cannot get it to allow me to paste multiple items. It appears to copy multiple items that were selected via holding the Shift key down while clicking on them. However, when I attempt to paste the multiple items nothing appears to happen and I just hear a bonk sound. This is driving me 'bonkers' (pun intended). Please tell me that this is a recognized problem which will be addressed in the next minor upgrade. P.S. Giulio, if you read this, I've been using iReport for 3 years and love it. For the most part I think what you folks have done with the NB version is a great improvement (especially when you finish tweaking it), and we look towards shifting over to it for our Prod reports (which still at 2.0.4 version). thosp8246
Does anyone have any feedback as to why I cannot Paste more than one object back in?Or, if it is a bug, when it might be fixed? This is not a trivial problem, as it slows down the creation of reports.
englbrechtful
Yes you can copy/paste multiple items. Just select them -> Hit CTRL+C -> unselect the items -> Hit CTRL+V.Most likely your pasted items are now above their source items, just select them again and move them and you will see... thosp8246
Thank you Stefan, you provided me with the key... Apparently iReport does not follow the same convention as before for cutting and pasting multiple items. In iReport 2.0.4 you would just do a Copy (Ctrl-C) followed immediately with a Paste (Ctrl-V). However now I find (through your very helpful reply) that in iReport 3.6.0 you have to do a Copy (Ctrl-C), deselect the copied items, and then follow with a Paste (Ctrl-V). The key/difference being the deselecting part. What threw me off was that copying and pasting a single item works as it did previously, where you select the item, do a Ctrl-C, follow immediately with a Ctrl-V and iReport 2.0.4 would automatically deselect the copied item and paste in the new copy. Giulio Toffoli
the point is that with the new version of iR you can specify more accurately where to paste the copied objects. In facts you are not deselecting objects, but selecting a destination ( a band to for instance). If you just copy a single element, iReport assumes you want to duplicate it in the same container.
