Report is running very slow if I pass parameters

Hello,

I am running a jrxm from IReport 3. Master report has one sub report. I am passing 5 parameters to Subreport out of which two are dates

If i hardcode the dates in the subreport  query then report is taking only 2 secs to generate. If I pass parameters from master report instead of hardcoding then the report is taking more than 10 mins.

Why this is happening. Any Idea?

I have same problem. Have you found solution / explanation? I don't understand, why passing parameter values directly (through automatically generated input control without select box) are faster then value from input control with select box after applying filter.
