Jasperserver install on remote database server?

Hi I have an apache webserver installed on one server box and a mysql server installed on a separate server. Can I install Jasperserver on my webserver box and use an exisiting remote mysql database?

 

When I try to go through the jasperserver installer it is not able to find the db server or /bin directory of that database server.

You may achieve that using the war distribution file. There are very detailed described steps in order to achieve this on jasperserver docs. Of course you'd have to change the default configurations which just point to a localhost based mysql db.

 

Also it could help for your question to be more noticed if you detailed which steps you took and when it failed on your specific environment.
