2 charts in one report from 2 db tables(ireport)

hi, i have a requirement where i need to display 2 charts(pie and bar)in a single report side by side whose data come from different tables from the database.how can i do this using jasperreports and ireport.any help would be appreciated.....thanks in advance.

When you want a single report to show data from more than one query, you need to use a subreport. The easiest thing to do is to put each chart in its own subreport with its own query, and then place both subreports in the header or footer of a "master" report. If you want you can also add some data in the master report.

You can also use subdatasets for the two charts instead of subreports. You can see /demo/samples/charts/SubDatasetChartReport.jrxml for a sample.
