Generating dynamic XML just like in JSP with HTML

Is it possible to generate an xml file of any length that embeds data statically into a report (just like generating HTML files with jsp) that is later to be transformed into a pdf file?

I've done this but I've been getting errors repeatedly after the elements in the document reach a certain position beyond the first page. I either get an error telling me that the detail section,

the page header, footer and margins are greater than the page height when I set the size of the detail section to be greater than a certain

ammount (900+ or so), or I get a warning telling me that certain elements exceed the size of the detail section (since the position is incremented

without changing the size of the detail section) and I end up getting an out of memory error.
