This guide applies to the community and commercial editions of JasperReports Server 6.0.1, the most recent version at publication time. If you are running an earlier version of JasperReports Server, refer to the corresponding version of the Authentication Cookbook.

In version 5.1, we reconfigured JasperReports Server to simplify creation and configuration of external authentication. In version 6.0.1, we added wrapper classes for the underlying Spring Security classes. If you are updating from an earlier version of JasperReports Server, you will need to modify your configuration files to work with the current version.
