This page contains instructions on how to apply commercial licenses to each Jaspersoft product.

    Amazon Installations (AWS AMIs)

Special steps are required for applying TIBCO JasperReports® Server licenses to Amazon machine installations. Information is available from the following pages:

    All Other Installations

JasperReports Server (excluding JasperReports Server Reporting Edition/JasperReports Server Express)

This section applies to the following editions (formerly named "Jaspersoft Business Intelligence..."):

    • JasperReports® Server Professional
    • JasperReports® Server Enterprise
    • JasperReports® Server Workgroup

To upgrade the evaluation license to a commercial one (or update an existing commercial license), copy the commercial license file over the evaluation license file. Stop your JasperReports Server application first. For bundled installers, (UNZIP the jasperserver.zip file first, if it is contained in a .zip file) copy the jasperserver.license file into the root directory of your installation (ex: C:/Program Files/JasperServer-Pro 3.7), overwriting the previously installed license file. For WAR file installations JasperReports Server will recognize the license file when it is located in the home directory of the user that runs your application server. Copy the jasperserver.license to:

    • C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\jasperserver.license (Windows XP)

    • C:\Users\<user>\jasperserver.license (Windows 7)

    • C:\jasperserver.license (Window 7, Existing Tomcat as Windows Service. User SYSTEM.)

    • /home/<user>/jasperserver.license (Linux)*

    • /Users/<user>/jasperserver.license (Mac OSX)*

      • Note that in *nix environments the application server's user directory may be different than /home/

Start your JasperReports Server application. In your web browser, navigate to your JasperReports Server login page (ex: http://localhost:8080/jasperserver-pro). Click "About JasperReports Server" in the bottom left hand corner. Your installation should now reflect the terms of your commercial license. Please refer to section 2.2.3 of the Install Guide for more information about commercial license installation.

JasperReports Server Reporting Edition (previously JasperReports Server Express)

Stop your JasperReports Server application before completing the following steps. First, remove the evaluation copy of jasperserver.license (installed by default) from your installation if it is present. It is located in the product's root directory (ex: C:Program Files (x86)jasperreports-server-4.1).

For bundled installers, (UNZIP the jasperreports.zip file first, if it is contained in a .zip file) copy the jasperreports.license file into the root' directory of your installation (where your evaluation file was located, ex: C:Program Files (x86)jasperreports-server-4.1). For WAR file installations JasperReports Server will recognize the license file when it is located in the home directory of the user that runs your application server. Copy the jasperreports.license to:

    • C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\jasperreports.license (Windows XP)

    • C:\Users\<user>\jasperreports.license (Windows 7)

    • C:\jasperreports.license (Window 7, Existing Tomcat as Windows Service. User SYSTEM.)

    • /home/<user>/jasperreports.license (Linux)*

    • /Users/<user>/jasperreports.license (Mac OSX)*

      • Note that in *nix environments the application server's user directory may be different than /home/

Start your JasperReports Server application. In your web browser, navigate to your JasperReports Server login page (ex: http://localhost:8080/jasperserver-pro). Click "About JasperReports Server" in the bottom left hand corner. Your installation should now reflect the terms of your commercial license. Please refer to section 2.2.3 of the Install Guide for more information about commercial license installation.

JasperReports Commercial Products (JR Pro/iReport Pro/Jaspersoft Studio Pro, etc.)

A commercial license is required to activate the Charts/Widgets/Maps Pro and HTML5 components when running JR-Pro/iReport-Pro/Studio-Pro. To install your commercial license (a file named jasperreports.license: UNZIP the jasperreports.zip file first, if it is contained in a .zip file), open iReport-Pro or Jaspersoft Studio Pro, then go to Help->License Manager. Click the "Install License" button, and select the jasperreports.license file from your file system.

NOTE: If you purchased the entire Jaspersoft Business Intelligence suite (including JasperServer), you can apply the jasperserver.license file in the iReport or Jaspersoft Studio License Manager dialog rather than jasperreports.license. You can even apply the jasperserver.license to a JasperReports-Pro Library-only application by adding the jasperserver.license to a specific directory, then passing in the JVM flag: -Djs.license.directory=<path of directory>

If you are packaging JasperReports-Pro to distribute to other recipents (ex: OEM application), the JasperReports Professional license file should be also added to the classpath of the target Java application, in the default root package. In WAR distributions, for example, license file can be in the WEB-INFclasses directory. Optionally you can set up a license location by passing in the JVM flag: -Dcom.jaspersoft.jasperreports.license.location="usrlocaljasperreports.license" or the home folder of the user running Java (ie: $HOME/jasperserver.license). Please make sure you have the bouncy castle jars in your classpath so that the license can be decrypted correctly.

    JasperReports IO

    A commercial license for JasperReports IO will control the number of concurrent executions allowed.;

Your commercial license should be placed in the following folder (replacing any previous license in the same folder): /jrio/webapps/jrio/WEB-INF/classes. The license name will be "jasperreports.license."

If necessary, you can alter the location of the license on your installation by passing the following -D system property into your JVM: "-Dcom.jaspersoft.jasperreports.license.location=(your new license location)".

    Jaspersoft ODBO Connect

For further details, see "Getting Started with ODBO Connect".

    1. Run "Jaspersoft ODBO Connect.msi" file and choose "Install."
    2. Download your ODBO "license.zip" file from the eDelivery site. You should be able to find it here after logging in: https://edelivery.tibco.com/storefront/customer-licensekey.ep.
    3. Unzip the license file. Open it and copy the encrypted license key string to your clipboard.
    4. When prompted, enter your license key into the dialog box (Note: It is recommended that you use at least a temporary key. If a key is not provided, access to the software will end after 30 days and will not be able to be extended.)
    5. Reboot your computer once the installation is complete.

    Jaspersoft ETL Express (a.k.a. Pro)

To apply your Jaspersoft ETL license, copy and paste the (text string) key you received into a file named "license" (with NO extension). Then, place this file into the root directory of your JasperETL Pro installation.

For more information, please review the JasperETL-Pro documentation, available via the following link: http://support.jaspersoft.com/documentation_preview.php?pl=4
