how to apply font size in coding while checking ternary operator condition

Hi friends good day to all, I want to apply font size based on the null value. My condition is, value is null means font size will apply 8 and value is notnull means font size will appy 10. So I want to check look like below. any one can help me. please help me soon.

$P{gpa1} == null ? "#.##".fontSize=8 : $P{gpa1}.fontSize=10
