driver cannot be found when trying to create new report

Hi all,

I am using jaspersoft studio 5.5.1

When creating a mysql data adapter everything works fine and the test connection works.

When trying to create a new report i get an exception  java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver cannot be found by net.sf.jasperreports_5.5.1.final

 

What i am doing wrong?

I wonder if your data-Adapter is specific to only one Studio project, but your report is in another.  In this case you might need to configure the Build Path for this other project and add the jar containing the jdbc driver.

Did you create a dataset? Are you using mariadb driver or mysql connector/J? Jaspersoft ships with mariadb so the connection url is different from mysql.
