Stretch with overflow works only in iReport 4.7 preview mode but not in "Run JasperServer Report" function, how to resolve?

I have a problem making the text field stretch dynamically based on the size of data inside the textfield. Here are my settings below:

 

Stretch with Overflow: Yes

The rest of the textfield properties are standard.

 

I tried to preview the report and it stretches the textfield and the detail band but when i run the report in jasperserver it doesnt work. it doesnt stretch.

I tried to change and play around the Position Type, Stretch Type (for both the detail band and the textfield), and the Print When Details Overflows but still doesnt work.

 

Its quite confusing why in the preview it works but when i run the report in the server it doesnt. Is there any setting in the ireport preview that i need to do in the jasperserver settings?
