Pass parameter from one report to another upon click

I want to click on a hyperlink in a report (which actually is some value) and then pass that value to where clause in SQL of another report. I have read a few tutorials here & here. However I am not clear how to achieve this as I am very new to Jasper reports.

I have successfully installed iReports (3.6.2) and also have successfully added JasperServer(4.5.0) repository. I have also added two JRXML documents report one and report two I mentioned above to this repository in iReports.

Can anyone guide me to resource or link which can be helpful in this regard.

How are you exporting the report? is it in HTML?

I did my own research and some how I was able to solve the problem. The clue was using input controls while uploading reports in JasperServer.
