How to Group elements in Table component

Hi,

I need to group the data by a particular field in the table component. The main report has an option of a <group> element, is there something like that for the table component as well? Just for the record, I am using a Bean DataSource for populating the report.

Is there anybody here who has been working on similar lines? Please Help.

I almost hit a dead end here. I had to eliminate the use of table component and map fields in the detail band. This works, however, is troublesome whenever the data overflows from the detail band and has to split over pages.

in case somebody can suggest a more  efficient solution, it will be appreciated.
