sebif
What type of license is needed to embed Jasper Reports in a comercial application that is sold to customers? Is it possible to embed the Community Edition or only Payed Edition can be used for that purpose? What pricing is used in this case ? Is this considered OEMining or is it a different category? (reading here http://forum.servoy.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=12335 that "Also are you asking about reseller (OEM) prices or Developer prices (for incorporating it into your commercial solution)?" - it seems this is not considered OEMing, is that correct?)ThanksFrankQ
sebif
Is there a phone # where I can reach someone from JasperReports to discuss this licensing question? Thanks
lucianc
JasperReports is available under LGPL version 3. The text of the license is available in the download package, and you can find more information on it at http://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl.htmlAs far as I can tell, an LGPL library can be used in commercial applications, as long as the library is not modified. If you want to be sure about that, contact a lawyer or a legal consulting firm.If you want to talk to someone that represents JasperReports, contact Jaspersoft (http://www.jaspersoft.com) who owns the copyright to JasperReports.Regards,Lucian
