Page X of Y Problem

Hi folks, I'm very new to JasperReports and IReport.

Using the example from the Ultimate Guide, I'm trying to create a Page X of Y, but it fails. For example, on a two page report I get "Page 1 of 2" on the first page, but on the second page, I get "Page null of 2".  I'm using the exact settings for the variable I created with the name "currentPage" and for the Textfield as well.

Any suggestions?

Hey

In iReport library ( window pane just below Element properties . Right of your layout ) , there is a pre-defined element labelled "Page X of Y" . You can drag and drop this element on to your layout and use it to display the same.

You can also check out the underlying code by referring the properties of this element.

Thanks, got it.  The problem was, I was trying to do it according to the Ultimate Guide and that simply didn't work.
