Custom data objects(datasource) and grouping

Hi All,

We use custom java objects for our reports. However, the group feature does not group them correctly. The generated report shows several small groups rather than 3 main groups.(which is expected)

Can anyone confirm that the grouping feature works with custom data objects as the datasource.

In order to make sure that you have a single appearance of each group you'll have to make sure that the records are ordered by the value used for grouping.  JasperReports doesn't do that automatically, it only detects when the value changes from one record to the next.

You can use sort fields to order your data in the report.

I wrote my own custom sorter to order the records and it works fine.
