tarchibald Posted May 14, 2010 Share Posted May 14, 2010 Hi I am new to linux,java, and jasper so pretty much i am a basket case,but here we go...my environment is as followsfedora 11 apache 2.2 JDK 1.6 tomcat5 mysql5.1 all installed and verfied working.i am executing jasperserver-ce-3.7.0-linux-installer.binaccepting the default install path for jasper server and asking for the server to use my existing tomcat and mysql instancessetting the directories for tomcat and mysql respectivelytomcat5 dir = /usr/share/tomcat5mysql binaries dir = /var/lib/mysqlmysql port = 3306and then enter my mysql credentilas which i have confirmed have root priviligesthe installer then reports backError: Unable to connect to database 127.0.0.1:3306. Please check your configuration.i have confirmed that mysql is running and i can log from >mysql -utony -pone question i have is whether the mysql dir i hav supplied is correct, looking in this directoy it is the repository directoy for the already databases running on my mysql insatnce. is this the directory that jasper installer is after?can any one help with this one?cheers Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
