topkatz
I have a web app Im building and I have been using jasperserver for some of my more complex reports. This web app is to be used in both a intranet and the web. I would prefer to keep jasper as a seamless part off the app, and not require users to login. I also wold like to avoid exposing the jasperserver to the web at all of posible. Is it posible to have php request a report from jasper and have jasper output a pdf file that I then just send to the user as an attachment? This way the server only has to have the jasper user credentials, and I dont need to pass them or the report parameters in the url? I can setup tomcat to use ssl, but to have the user not login I need to send the user credentils in the url, which is a bad idea over the web. topkatz
After digging around a bit I realized this is exactly what the web service is intended to be used for. I now have a simple SOAP/PHP script that gets jasperserver to spit out the report to the user.
