addition in jasper reports

Hi

Please see the attached image. The total and closing balance is done based on groupby of a particular Field. Now i need to sum those two closing balance. Can you please tell me what has to be done. Please post your answers quickly. Its very urgent. Thanks a lot.

Change your prospective, instead of thinking about summing two totals, calculate directly the final total in a variable that is independent by the groups, same for the other values you would have to sum/add to the final value.

can you please bit more clear. What you say is i need to sum it based on the topmost field value right?

What I'm saying is that you should use a variable that is not dependent from a specific group, instead of summing the totals of each individual groups.

Thanks for your information. But the spec. got changed. So started redesigning the report.
