Suppress Section

I am new to jasper ireports. I am trying to suppress one section depends on the parameter value which comes in.

for eg: if parameter value is "A" then i will be suppressing Section Column Header otherwise i will suppressing other sections.

I found it by myself.

 

--To suppress a section

new Boolean($P{SUBREPORT_DIR}.equals("222"))

 

here what i am doing is : I am supressing my section or band depends on the input parameter SUBREPORT_DIR if it = 222 then i am supressing section/band otherwise it will be visible.
